How does an eSIM work?
eSIMs (or SIM cards) are how our devices connect to mobile networks. Without any form of SIM, your device is at the mercy of the nearest Wi-Fi network, and eSIMs are the digital versions of a traditional SIM card.
Once you activate an eSIM data plan in your device, it will connect to a local carrier so you have internet access without relying on Wi-Fi (or trying to connect to your usual carrier and paying $$$ roaming charges).
What’s great about eSIMs is that you can purchase them, install them, and activate them virtually without visiting in-person stores or kiosks. Everything can be done with a few screen taps, including topping up your data or adding new packages.
