How does aloSIM's free eSIM phone number promotion work?
Need an eSIM with a phone number? Well, you've come to the right place.
We're excited to partner with our sister app, Hushed, to provide a free eSIM phone number with many of aloSIM's prepaid data packages.
Who gets a free eSIM phone number?
You'll notice that many aloSIM data packages now include a promotional banner advertising a free international phone number that runs over the internet, allowing you to call and text.
If you see this banner, that means your purchase will include a free eSIM phone number from Hushed (a free app made by the creators of aloSIM).
How does it work?
- Purchase an eSIM data package that includes a free phone number
- Redeem the offer and claim your free number (see below)
- Call and text internationally using our sister app, Hushed
How do I redeem the free phone number offer?
If you're offered a free phone number, you'll complete your data purchase normally and redeem the offer afterwards.
1. Purchase a data package that includes the offer.
(Most aloSIM data packages include the free phone number offer, but we're not able to offer a phone number in certain countries.)
2. Under 'My eSIMs,' select your latest eSIM.
(Or you can go to 'Rewards.')
3. Select 'Calling & Texting'
4. On the 'Hushed Phone Number' screen, you can read the details of your free phone number offer. Select the blue 'Redeem' button.
5. Confirm your email address. This is important because we need to email you instructions on how to claim your free phone number and begin using it.
(If you already have a Hushed account, you must use the same email address associated with that account.)
6. Check your email to get started with your new phone number.
- If you already have a Hushed account, we'll remind you where to log in.
- If you haven't used Hushed before, we'll tell you how to download the free Hushed app and log into the brand-new account we've created for you.
7. Open Hushed, log into your account, and tap the red 'Add Number' button.
8. Choose a phone number from Canada or the United States.
(This will be an international phone number that can call or text any country, so it doesn't matter if you purchased data for a different country.)
9. Choose the free phone number offer.
Your free international phone number will last as long as your data package, so if you have purchased a seven-day data package, you'll get a seven-day Hushed phone number.
Your free phone plan will include $3 of pay-as-you-go credits for calling and texting, and you can add more credit if you need it.
10. Call and text on your new Hushed phone number.
Your new Hushed phone number can call or text any phone number, anywhere! It's the perfect way to stay in contact with people while you're travelling + even when you're back home.
If you run low on credit, you can add more credit and keep the conversations flowing!
How long does my phone number last?
Your Hushed number includes a plan that’s the same length of time as your aloSIM data package. So if you have purchased a seven-day data package, you’ll get a seven-day Hushed phone number. (Data packages over 30 days will come with a free 30-day phone number.)
Can I keep my Hushed number longer than that?
Absolutely! If you decide you really like having a Hushed phone number, you can keep it as long as you want. (Having a second phone number is super handy for selling something, shopping, protecting your privacy, and staying off lists that bug you with spammy calls and messages.)
Why can't I get a Hushed number for the specific country I'm visiting?
Hushed numbers are available in 300+ area codes, but they're not available for every country in the world. So for this promotion, we're offering a free Canada or United States phone number with an international phone plan.
Don't worry about visiting Taiwan with a Toronto phone number, or visiting Honolulu with a Halifax phone number. It's a full-blown international phone number, which means you can call or text any number, in any country, using the credits we've loaded onto your account.
(And if you need more credits, you can add them anytime. Hushed is super affordable.)
Where can I use my Hushed number?
Your Hushed phone number runs over the internet, so it works over Wi-Fi or data. Hushed doesn't know (or care) if you're at home, or halfway around the world. As long as you're connected to the internet, your Hushed app will work beautifully for calling, texting, and voicemail.
