How do I fix "PDP Authentication Failure"?
Sometimes iPhone and iPads experience a PDP Authentication Failure when attempting to activate an eSIM data package and connect to a supported data network.
This iOS error usually appears as "Could not activate cellular data network. PDP authentication failure."
If you experience an iPhone or iPad PDP Authentication Failure error message, please try the following options to correct the issue.
OPTION 1: Toggle your eSIM off and on
1. Go to "Settings" then "Cellular"
2. Select your eSIM
3. Toggle "Turn On This Line" OFF, and wait five seconds
4. Toggle "Turn on This Line" back ON
5. Wait at least two minutes to let the network try to connect
6. Turn off your Wi-Fi (if applicable) and open an internet browser to see if your data is flowing yet. If not, please try OPTION 2.
OPTION 2: Toggle Airplane Mode on and off
1. Toggle your device to Airplane Mode
2. Leave your iPhone or iPad on Airplane Mode for five seconds
3. Turn Airplane Mode off
4. Wait at least two minutes to let the network try to connect
5. Turn off your Wi-Fi (if applicable) and open an internet browser to see if your data is flowing yet. If not, please try OPTION 3.
OPTION 3: Restart and reset network settings
1. Restart your iPhone or iPad
2. Once your device restarts, go to "Settings" then "General" then "Transfer or Reset iPhone"
3. Select "Reset" then "Reset All Network Settings" and confirm the action
4. Once your device has reset its network settings, go back to "Settings" > "Cellular" or "Cellular Data" and select your eSIM
4. Select "Cellular Data Network" and make sure the APN is set to "alosim" in these two fields
5. Wait at least two minutes to let the network try to connect
6. Turn off your Wi-Fi (if applicable) and open an internet browser to see if your data is flowing yet
