How do I turn off my primary phone/data plan?
While it's fine to keep your primary phone plan "ON" while using your eSIM for all mobile data, some aloSIM customers worry they might mess up a setting and get charged roaming fees.
So if you'd feel more comfortable turning your primary plan off entirely, and you don't mind not having access to your regular phone number while it's turned off, here's how to do that:
How to turn off your primary data plan (iPhone or iPad)
1. Open “Settings” on your iPhone or iPad
2. Go to "Cellular"
3. Under Cellular Plans, select your Primary plan
4. Toggle "Turn On This Line" to OFF
This action disables your SIM card, so you will not be able to use data or call/text using this phone plan until you turn the line back on.
How to turn off your primary data plan (Samsung device)
1. Go to "Settings" then "Connections"
2. Choose "Mobile Network" and toggle off your Primary plan, OR choose "SIM card manager" and turn off your Primary plan
This action disables your SIM card, so you will not be able to use data or call/text using this phone plan until you turn the line back on.
How to turn off your primary data plan (Google Pixel)
