Can you text internationally with an eSIM?
With aloSIM, all of our eSIMs provide local mobile data, and every purchase includes a free international phone number through Hushed. This means you can text internationally without roaming fees.
- Once you buy a data plan from aloSIM, tap 'Rewards'
- Tap on the free Hushed number offer
- Tap 'Redeem' and follow the on-screen instructions
With other providers, the ability to text internationally with an eSIM depends on the type of eSIM that you install and how you’re going to text.
- Some eSIMs include a phone number that allows you to send and receive traditional SMS messages internationally (the messages with the green text bubbles, for iPhone users).
- Other eSIMs are data-only. This means that they do not include a phone number for texting, but do provide local mobile data you can use to text internationally thorough messaging apps like WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram.
