Is the iPhone 16e eSIM only?
The iPhone 16e is eSIM only for models purchased in the United States. However, international versions of the iPhone 16e still have a physical SIM card tray as well as eSIM support.
This is in line with Apple’s mission to move towards a fully digital mobile setup. Models purchased in the U.S. no longer have a physical SIM card tray and now require all cellular activation to take place electronically through the eSIM.
The good news is that eSIM-only models are still very flexible, allowing you to store multiple eSIM profiles, switch between plans instantly, and download travel data plans instantly.
