Can eSIM be hacked?
eSIMs are extremely difficult to hack, and are even more secure than physical SIM cards. This is largely thanks to built-in security features and the fact that they are embedded into a device.
Unlike a physical SIM card, which can be stolen or swapped, eSIMs cannot be removed or tampered with unless someone has access to your phone and its security settings. The eSIM profile itself is encrypted. It’s protected by your phone’s passcode (or face ID and other biometrics), and is managed by secure carrier systems.
That being said, there is no technology that is completely free of risk. Even eSIM users should stay informed of scams like phishing attempts or other dangers. Use a strong password and two-factor authentication whenever possible to help minimize any risks.
