How do I activate my eSIM data package on my Samsung device?
Once you've successfully installed your Samsung eSIM (digital SIM card), you can adjust your phone settings so your data activates automatically upon arrival.
How to activate your Samsung data plan
Ready to use your data? Follow the steps below when you're about to travel, and you'll connect when you arrive at your destination.
1. On your Samsung, go to 'Settings' then 'Connections' and 'SIM manager.'
2. Select your new eSIM (aloSIM) and toggle it on.
3. Select your eSIM as your phone's data source.
Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Preferred SIM (or Primary SIM)
If you have a phone number you want to keep active, you'll choose your regular SIM under "Calls" and "Messages," and choose aloSIM under "Mobile data."
4. Toggle on 'Data roaming' for your eSIM.
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Toggle on 'Data roaming'
When you arrive at your destination and toggle off Airplane Mode, your eSIM data plan should begin working immediately.
If your data plan doesn't connect right away, here are a few settings to double-check ...
Your APN should be 'alosim.'
Go to 'Settings' then 'Connections' then 'Mobile network' and 'Access Point Names.' The selected eSIM should say 'alosim' in the Name and APN fields.
If it doesn't say that, we will walk you through how to edit your APN setting.
'Automatically select network' should be toggled on.
Go to "Settings," then "Connections," then "Mobile networks," then "Network operators." Make sure "Automatically select network" is toggled on.
