When you purchase an aloSIM data package, it's typically for a week (seven days) or a full 30 days.

So when you're finalizing your purchase, why does the description say "This eSIM never expires" if your package is only valid for a certain number of days?

Great question!

Your data package has an expiry date.

You'll be able to connect to networks in that particular country or region for the duration of your plan (usually 7-30 days). After your time period is up, you won't be able to connect to that network anymore. (Even if eSIM is still "on," the package itself has expired.)

Your eSIM itself never expires.

An eSIM is a digital version of a traditional SIM card, so think of your eSIM like a tiny physical SIM card that gets tucked inside your phone. That one eSIM can work forever, as long as you top it up with data packages. So don't delete it!

Think of your eSIM as an old-school DVD player, and the data package as a rented DVD movie. Once you've returned the DVD, you still own your DVD player but won't be able to play that movie. Whenever you rent another DVD, you can immediately play it on that same DVD player.
